·        Are Cool Roofs Green? The Answer’s not Black and White.

In her article ‘Are Cool Roofs Green? The Answer’s not Black and White’, Candace Pearson weighs up the advantages and disadvantages of cool roofs, which she defines as ‘those with reflectance and emissivity that make them good at keeping out the sun’s heat’ (Pearson, 2014).

Reflection 

I found this article difficult, because I don't have a background in this sort of study.

However, I did some digging and found a 'dumbed' down article that allowed me to grasp the subject matter better.

I also researched the urban heat island effect (UHI).  Urban heat island effect is ‘the most documented phenomenon of climate change’ (Santamouris, 2012. 

It was fascinating because, honestly, I hadn't heard that much about UHI. It really made me sit up and do my own sort of study which gave me some more info on the topic.
